A message to our fans, friends and family.
Several months ago our friend and band mate since
childhood, Rick "Animal" McEvoy
began to experience some seemingly minor health issues. It
is with the heaviest of hearts
that we must let you know that at the beginning of May Rick
was diagnosed with a rare
soft tissue sarcoma and his condition deteriorated before
he could begin treatment. Rick
passed away on Thursday May 31, 2018.
As you can imagine Rick and his family had no idea this was coming and his
hospital
stay was mostly in ICU. The bills for what treatment he did receive are
astronomical
and to make things worse Rick wasn't able to work for several months prior to
his
untimely passing. In order to help Rick's family with those expenses a benefit
will be
held on Sunday July 15, 2018 at Jamison Road Fire Hall in Elma NY from 2:00pm -
6:00pm. Tickets are $25.00. Rick played in several top Western NY bands and many
local bands and musicians will be performing at his benefit. Beer, Food and Wine
will
be served and there will be a Chinese auction and other fun surprises.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and can be made through Paypal right here:
Any Paypal donation of $25.00 or more will can be used as a ticket for Rick's
benefit!

Tickets are $25.00 presale and $30.00 at the door. There has been massive support from many local businesses and they have donated incredible items for the Chinese auction and raffles. Some highlights are listed below. There will be Beer and Wine served to those of age and pop and water as well. Mikey Dees will provide the pasta salad and Pasquales will provide the pizza. There will be some great entertainment and fun activities while we try to make a very difficult situation a little better. Some Highlights: Mark Andol from Made In America Store has been fantastic in helping us pull this benefit together. We can't thank him enough for his help and contacts but he has also provided two of his tailgating sensations The All American Grills for prizes. Beacon Digs has provided this great T-Shirt fund: Get yours now!! Artisans from The Roycroft have also provided some wonderful donations for prizes. Rick played in other great bands throughout his playing career and many of his fellow musicians will be on hand and stepping to the stage for a day of fun playing and sharing great memories. Throughout Rick's life he helped countless people. He provided jobs to anyone in need during the years that his business thrived. Rick was always there to lend a hand to get a job done for anyone who asked and he never quit. We would love to see you there Sunday and we thank everyone for your kind support. Thank you all very much!! |
The CPR Band has bookings for
the calendar and is currently auditioning
for our drumming position. If you have seen Rick play you know what we
are looking for. We need a driving drummer with strong vocals. Pro attitude,
excellent chops, and a great sounding kit is a must. Must be able to play
weekends and occasional week nights. A sense of humor works too. We
play a variety of music and styles so we are looking for a player.
